Four UQDI researchers have been awarded funding for their projects.

Associate Professor Brian Gabrielli has received $549,409 over three years for his research on melanoma. Associate Professor Gabrielli’s research will investigate a repair mechanism which he and his team have identified which is commonly defective in melanomas: APP1064807 Identifying the mechanism of the G2 phase UV checkpoint and repair response commonly defective in melanoma.

Professor Ian Frazer has received $1,129,978 over five years for his work in skin cancers, examining why some sunspots disappear and why others progress onto skin cancer: APP1059012 Determinants of progression of actinic keratoses to squamous cancer.
