UQ Medicine researchers among the most highly cited in the world

Researchers from The University of Queensland (UQ) Faculty of Medicine are among the most influential in the world with six academics named on the 2019 Highly Cited list.

The Web of Science Group produces the list in recognition of scientists who have published a high number of papers that rank in the top 1% most-cited in their field.

Faculty of Medicine Executive Dean, Professor Geoff McColl said it is an honour to have UQ medical researchers recognised as world leaders for their impactful and outstanding work.

“What makes this list extra special is that it is peer-rated, putting UQ medicine researchers among the most highly considered and called upon by other researchers around the world for their knowledge and leadership.

I congratulate those staff who have extended their contribution to medicine and influential reach for the health and well-being of others globally,” Professor McColl said.

Faculty staff on the 2019 highly cited list include:

  • Professor David Paterson, Director UQ Centre for Clinical Research
  • Professor Harvey Whiteford, Professor of Population Mental Health, School of Public Health
  • Professor John McGrath – Academic Title-Professor, School of Clinical Medicine
  • Professor Carl Lavie, Academic Title-Professor, Ochsner Clinical School
  • Professor Di Yu, UQ Diamantina Institute
  • Associate Professor Genevieve Healy, NHMRC CDF Principal Research Fellow, School of Public Health
