Herston Health Precinct
The Frazer Institute also occupies a purpose-built seven-story building located with the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (RBWH) on the Herston Health Precinct.
Generously funded through a partnership between the Queensland Government, Atlantic Philanthropies, and the University of Queensland, the Herston base for the Frazer Institute was completed in 2008 at a cost of $70 million. It was initially the home for the UQ Centre for Clinical Research, and became part of the Frazer Institute in 2026.
The facility includes over 1,000 m2 of dedicated PC2 lab space, a purpose-built clinical floor for running clinical trials, and a mass spectrometry facility which supports research from across South East Queensland. The facility is physically and intellectually connected to the RBWH and collaborates with researchers and health facilities from around the world.
