Professor Ian Frazer has a string of achievements after his name. Being identified as one of the most trusted people in Australia is just another addition.
The Reader's Digest Trust Survey which was released today, listed The University of Queensland Diamantina research leader as the third most trusted person in 2011.
More than 1000 Australians were asked to rate 100 well-known people on how much they believe in them, with the number one position being deemed the most trustworthy.
Coming in at the top of the list as the most trusted person was public health specialist and former Australian of the Year, Fiona Stanley. Australia's first female Nobel Laureate, Elizabeth Blackburn, came in at second.
Professor Ian Frazer was ranked third place, identified as award-winning immunology and cancer researcher.
"The Top Ten is dominated by people who 'care and respect', while the tail end of the field is full of politicians, businessmen and controversial sports figures," Reader's Digest said.
Names amongst the bottom 10 are media mogul Rupert Murdoch at 90, former sports agent Ricky Nixon at 93 and actor Mel Gibson at 96.
Shane Warne, Australian cricketer, came in at 100, rendering him the list's least trusted person.
