Cancer

Our cancer researchers use molecular and cell biology techniques to understand cancer initiation, progression and response to treatment. Cancers can be triggered by multiple environmental factors resulting in genetic changes to environmental events including exposure to viruses. They are using novel techniques to investigate how viruses can trigger cancers and the genetic changes that result in the cancer. Researchers are also developing novel techniques to treat cancers. In this way, cancer researchers apply research findings to improve diagnosis and treatment of cancer patients.
